Walking the Ridgeway
18th-24th July | £250
This event will take place over a week and will include a variety of accommodation from camping, hostelling and B&B. You will need to be a good walker for the 87-mile track averaging 14.5 miles a day.
The Ridgeway National Trail is one of the oldest roads in Britain taking in many ancient monuments, the Chilterns and the Wessex Downs along the way. The western half of the trail starts at Avebury to Goring and follows a broad track along the North Wessex Downs, with far reaching views over rolling open down land to the south and the wide expanse of the Thames Valley to the north.
The Eastern half of the trail from Goring to Ivenhoe Beacon begins by following the banks of the Thames before heading into the Chiltern Hills through a landscape of beech woodlands and fertile farmlands dotted with attractive villages and towns.
This will be a guided walk and our backpacks will be forwarded on to the next accommodation stop ahead of us. When we are camping our tents will be put up and our dinner cooked for us for our arrival. Sometimes we will stay at B&B accommodation and have our dinner at a local pub. We will walk in a group with more experienced walkers walking ahead. Meeting up for lunch and in the evenings.
The price includes all accommodation and camping, all baggage transfers, evening meals when camping, all breakfasts. Two guides. Camp setters.
If you are going to bring your dog make sure it is fit enough as many dog owners have to cut there journey short because the dog just can’t walk that far!!
£250 for one week walk
